My Purpose in Business

To provide an outstanding experience and results in residential real estate transactions so that my clients may feel relaxed and comfortable during the process and with that feel compelled to refer their friends and family to me for their real estate needs.

Qualifications

I am a second generation broker here in beautiful Santa Cruz. I grew up on the beautiful lower Westside of town, attended the local schools and even received my Economics degree from UC Santa Cruz. My father started the business in 1977 and I watched him carefully hire only quality agents while building the company’s reputation for being small but very well respected for the twenty-two years he ran it. I took it over upon entering the business in February 2006.

Ninety-nine percent of the comfortable one hundred fifty properties we have sold over the last three years comes from residential real estate transactions . REO property sales make up approximately two-thirds of our business. We have also helped many troubled homeowners avoid foreclosure by referring them to qualified loan modification specialists or by short selling their homes.

I have a strong technological and customer service background and it is a pleasure to bring those skills and my formal economics training to real estate. The world of real estate has changed rapidly even in the last four years in ways that have nothing to do with the economy. Agents who do not embrace the internet, social media, and electronic ways of reaching the public are struggling, if in business at all. I constantly keep abreast of the developments in technology and creatively brainstorm with others on how to best use these wonderful tools to connect with home buyers, investors and sellers.

I have a hero streak in me. This has led me to my focuses on investing and short sales. On one hand I really enjoy being the one to stand up to the lenders on behalf of troubled homeowners and help them out of their tight situation. To this end I have undergone three years of training with Short Sale Genius and Lee Honish, a former bank loss mitigation manager. This training has been invaluable in not only getting results with short sales but most importantly, protecting my sellers while doing it.

I also have additional teaching, supervising and leadership experience gained from my experience as a sailing captain. In this role I have done everything from introduce people to their very first on the water experience safely, to successfully building winning racing teams to safely crossing oceans with a crew of several people who had never met prior to the voyage.
